Visa is Building The Universal Payments Channel

Visa is trying to build a universal payments channel meaning generally you pay for something
in other countries with a debit or credit card from your account in your home country which involves a network of banks but a visa is trying to replicate the whole system on Ethereum based channel. Here instead of traditional currencies, it will be a platform for stablecoins and central bank digital currencies(CBDC).

But When ? This project is still in early-stage and the channels main focus is to make it easy and faster to exchange one currency for another. Visa making this move is a sign that DeFi might be the future
