Tate’s past statements have been strongly dismissive of cryptocurrency. He publicly declared having nothing to do with it, accusing other influencers of scamming their fans.

“I do not have anything to do with any crypto,” he tweeted in all caps. “I’m not a scammer like every other ‘influencer.’ I don’t need to rob my fans.”

Tate has had a jammed relationship with cryptocurrency and Bitcoin. Notably, the Romanian authorities seized 21 Bitcoin from him during an investigation into alleged rape and human trafficking.

However, his stance seems to have softened. With the potential to recover these funds, his interest in crypto appears to have rekindled. In his deleted post, he promised that he would “never sell”, and said that he’d back it with $100 million.

Mixed Reactions and a Cryptic Ending

While some cryptocurrency enthusiasts expressed interest in Tate’s proposed coin, regardless of their personal opinions on him, others pointed out the hypocrisy of his sudden embrace of an industry he previously condemned.

Despite deleting the tweet, Tate left his followers with a cryptic message, urging them to subscribe to his email newsletter for further information.

“I will not explain, but the action-takers will find out.”
